Little Kickers Program

MTSC Little Kickers Program -Run by a professional trainer from the NY Red Bulls

The Little Kickers program is a fun introduction for 3, 4, and 5 year olds to the fun and exciting game of soccer. This program is all activity and fun based games to get the kids enthusiastic. Each child will have a great time in a fun learning environment.  It is a 6 – 8 week long program.  Dates and times are announced prior to each season.  Cost is around $85 - $100 per player. Each player will receive a t-shirt to wear to the practice sessions.
Based on feedback from previous sessions, the sessions will be broken out by age. There will be sessions for 3-4 year olds and one for 4-5 year olds. Some of the more advanced 5 year olds may be invited to attend our PreTravel program.
Each player should wear sports appropriate attire as well as bring water or something to drink.
Curriculum:
  • Week 1 - Physical Awareness: Players learning how to move in soccer specific ways.
  • Week 2 - Spatial Awareness: Players learning how to become aware of space. Encouraging them to be alert to what’s around them.
  • Week 3 - Individual Possession: Introduce players to the correct techniques of moving the soccer ball.
  • Week 4 - Individual Possession: A more challenging session which recaps on the points in week 3.
  • Week 5 - Individual Possession (Turning the ball): Introduce players how to turn the ball and which parts of the feet to use.
  • Week 6 - Individual Possession (Turning the ball): A more challenging session recapping on points covered in week 5.
  • Structure of the hour would be fun with the kids playing games such as Sponge Bob, Sharks and Minnows and Foxes and Farmers but with a mass emphasis on development as well (without the players knowing it!!!)
PreTravel Program
The MTSC offers a Pre-Travel Program all players between 6-8 years of age thinking about playing travel soccer in the future. The idea of the program is twofold;
(1)           Prepare players for travel soccer
(2)           Without the pressure of competitive games at a weekend.
The program will run for 8 weeks with a big focus on making all players comfortable and technically sound when in possession of the ball individually while at the same time practicing in a fun relaxed environment.
The program will be run by our New York Red Bull trainer Craig Angus. Each session will be 1 hour in duration and is typically run on Saturday mornings. Each session will be limited to 12 players, and will be on a first come, first served basis.

Other towns that offer similar programs charge $100 and up. The Monroe Township Soccer Club tries to subsidize the program so it is affordable for anyone who can attend. The cost for this program will usually be between $30-$40 per player.

Payment is due prior to the first session.  For more information please contact the travel director at monroesc@gmail.com.
Player Training Academy

Monroe Soccer Player Training Academy

The PTA (Player Training Academy) will be a 6-8 week program, taught by our trainer Craig Angus from the NY Red Bulls, for players who are looking to get extra training to focus on their individual skills outside their normal team. Many players in the club are looking for extra training and pay anywhere between $200 and $300 for this training, while having to drive close to an hour.

The PTA is designed to provide an opportunity for players to focus on individual skills will staying within the club to have similar or better training for a lower cost and closer to home.

The curriculum for PTA is as follows:
Week 1: First Touch Control
Week 2: Passing and Receiving (Supporting Angles)
Week 3: Small Group Possession
Week 4: Moves
Week 5: Stop Starts
Week 6: Turns
Week 7: 2v1's/2v2's
Week 8: 3v2's/3v3's

We understand that we can’t accommodate everyone and hopefully this program can grow and we can offer additional times in the future. The cost for the session will be around $95 - $115 per player for all 6-8 sessions and include a t-shirt to be worn at all the practices.  These sessions are 1 and ½ hour long in duration and are broken down by age group.
